Two road deaths and a weapons cache seized in New South Wales

Two separate road fatalities were reported in New South Wales this week. A 40‑year‑old motorcyclist died after his bike collided with a utility vehicle near Kentucky Road, close to Neville, about 60 km east of Cowra. Another fatal incident occurred near Orange and Cowra, adding to the community’s grief.

Police operations also uncovered a significant weapons cache on the Silver City Highway near Wentworth. Officers seized a large knife, a dagger, an imitation firearm, a baton, an electronic stun device and cannabis from a 31‑year‑old man, who was charged with nine offences including possession of prohibited weapons.

In a related arrest in Dubbo, officers found a 32‑year‑old man hiding in a ceiling cavity who possessed a loaded 12‑gauge sawn‑off shotgun, a live shell and several stolen tools. He was charged with ten offences, including possession of a shortened firearm without authority.
