Child injured by falling iron gate during birthday party in Italy

A six-year-old boy is in serious condition after being struck by a heavy iron gate during a birthday party in Caselle di Maltignano, in the province of Ascoli Piceno. The incident occurred on the afternoon of Monday, August 24, while the child was playing with other children.

Preliminary reports indicate that the gate unexpectedly detached from its sliding track and fell onto the child. The impact caused a severe traumatic brain injury. Emergency responders provided immediate aid before transferring the boy via air ambulance to the Torrette Regional Hospital in Ancona.
