Child seriously injured by electric shock at fair in Consuegra

An eight-year-old boy was seriously injured after receiving an electric shock while exiting a fairground attraction in Consuegra, Toledo. The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon in the Plaza de San Juan during local festivities.

The child lost consciousness following the discharge and received immediate medical attention on-site from an emergency physician. He was subsequently transported via mobile intensive care unit (UVI) to the Hospital Mancha Centro in Alcázar de San Juan.

Authorities are investigating the exact cause of the accident, including whether the shock was caused by a failure in insulation, an electrical leak, or issues with the installation's connections. It remains unclear which specific element of the attraction was involved or if the equipment has been decommissioned pending a technical review.
