Childcare registration deadlines announced in German cities

Municipalities in Germany have issued notices regarding registration deadlines for childcare placements for the 2027 period.

In Wiesloch, the deadline for registering children for daycare or kindergarten spots for the period between May and August 2027 is November 3, 2026. Parents must use the city’s central online portal to pre-register. Those whose children are transitioning from nursery to kindergarten must also submit a new registration, unless they are already registered in the system. Parents who receive a rejection can request to be placed on a waiting list through the city’s Generation Office.

In Lingen, parents have until November 30 to register children for the 2027/2028 childcare year via the ‘KiTa-Online Lingen’ portal. The registration process allows parents to list up to three priority preferences among 32 daycare centers, three large daycare services, and 30 child daycare providers, as well as three after-school programs. Priority 1 placements will be allocated on January 18, with subsequent priorities processed in the spring. Support for the registration process is being offered by local family centers and migration counseling services.
