Childcare support projects launched in Hanoi and Dong Nai

Two distinct social welfare projects have been launched in Vietnam to improve support for children with disabilities and those in social protection centers.

In Hanoi and Ninh Binh, the “Family is a Child’s Home” (FAMILY) project will run from June 2026 to December 2027. Organized by the Research and Training Center for Community Development (RTCCD) and the Thuy An Disability Rehabilitation Center, the initiative aims to support 150 to 250 families with children facing physical disabilities, developmental delays, autism, or hearing impairments. The program provides training in home-based therapeutic care, sign language, and online resources, while also establishing community-based parent networks.

In Dong Nai, Saigon Children’s Charity CIO, in collaboration with the local health sector and funded by Dow Vietnam Chemicals Co., Ltd., has initiated a project to enhance childcare quality at the Dong Nai Social Work Center and Child Protection Fund. With a budget of nearly 700 million VND, the project will run until May 2027. It focuses on professional training for caregivers in areas such as developmental psychology and nutrition, while providing cognitive development activities for toddlers and life skills training, including financial management and communication, for older children.
