Childhood development through sport and the impact of pediatric illness

The Giocasport project, a collaboration between ASI Pesaro Urbino and SSD Sportfly, has operated for twenty years to provide age-appropriate physical activity for children aged 2 to 10. The program focuses on developing motor skills and coordination through various disciplines, including basketball, tennis, rugby, football, and volleyball, using sport as an educational tool to help children manage emotions and social interactions.

In a separate context regarding pediatric health, Damiano Rizzi, President of the Soleterre Foundation, highlights the profound psychological and economic impact of childhood illness on families. Rizzi, who works with AEIEOP and SIPO, emphasizes that a diagnosis affects the entire family unit, often leading to interrupted schooling, financial hardship, and the need for psychological support that is frequently provided by associations rather than national health services. His work extends to supporting families in Italy and conflict zones such as Ukraine, Palestine, and various African nations.
