Children and Families Agency to support SMEs with information security compliance

The Children and Families Agency has announced the establishment of a consultation desk to assist small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in complying with the ‘Children and Sexual Violence Prevention Act’, which is set to take effect on December 25, 2026.

Under the new law, businesses are required to implement information management measures to ensure the proper handling of data related to the verification of criminal facts. To support SMEs that may lack sufficient expertise in information management, the agency will introduce them to Registered Information Security Specialists (Information Processing Safety Support Specialists).

To facilitate this transition, the government will provide financial support for consultations, allowing each eligible business to receive up to one hour of professional consultation free of charge. Details regarding eligible businesses and the application process are available on the agency’s official website.
