Yüksekova, Turkey showcases dual‑season scenery and improvised pool for children
In Yüksekova district of Hakkâri, the 3,500‑metre‑high Sat Gölleri lakes display an unusual juxtaposition of lingering winter snow on one side and newly opened yellow alpine flowers on the other, creating a postcard‑like landscape that attracts visitors. Local officials Perviz Geçirgen and Davut Gündüz highlighted the area's biodiversity and tourism value.
Amid the summer heat, residents of the Vezirli neighbourhood built a makeshift pool using tarpaulins, stones and water to give children a safe place to cool off. Barış Sevgi explained that the improvised pool protects kids from the dangers of swimming in fast‑flowing streams while providing relief from temperatures above 30 °C.
