Children's art promotes marine conservation in Nicaragua and Mexico
Children's art is being used as an educational tool to promote environmental conservation in Nicaragua and Mexico.
In Corn Island, Nicaragua, 22 primary school students participated in an environmental painting contest organized by the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources (MARENA) and other local agencies. The initiative, marking the fifth anniversary of the area's designation as a sustainable development and conservation zone, aims to foster a love for local natural riches and promote the protection of sea turtles.
In Cancún, Mexico, the 14th Ocean Festival features an exhibition titled ‘Art and Environmental Education on Climate Change.’ Presented by Delphinus, the showcase includes drawings from children across various Mexican states and other countries. The artwork addresses themes such as climate change, marine ecosystem protection, and the human impact on the planet, seeking to use creativity to engage families in ocean conservation efforts.
