Children’s cultural workshops launched in Venezuela and Ecuador

In Mérida, Venezuela, more than 50 children from the regional cultural vacation plan participated in a workshop on the gaita de tambora and Venezuelan folk music. The event was organized by the Fundación para el Desarrollo Cultural del Estado Mérida (Fundecem), with Ana Mican, director of citizen attention, highlighting the importance of early musical education. Musician and teacher Alexis Colina led practical sessions on tambora handling and traditional rhythms.

In the canton of Patate, Tungurahua, Ecuador, children on vacation visited the Urku Kuri Cultural Center in Sucre parish. The visit, supported by the Government Parroquial Rural Sucre, introduced the youngsters to local history, traditions and heritage, reinforcing community identity and cultural pride.
