Children's Stage of Thessaloniki presents musical ‘The Wizard of Oz’

The Children's Stage of Thessaloniki is presenting a musical adaptation of L. Frank Baum’s ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Directed by Paschalis Arapatzis and adapted by Dimitra Theodoridou and Arapatzis, the production aims to offer a fresh perspective on the classic tale.

The story follows Dorothy, a young girl swept away by a cyclone to the magical Land of Oz. Along her journey to the Emerald City to seek help from the Great Wizard, she meets a Scarecrow, a Tin Man, and a Cowardly Lion. The production features music and lyrics by Aison, choreography by Dinos Fragoulis, and utilizes elaborate costumes and special effects.

Performances are scheduled to take place at the Alkazar Garden Theater and in Larissa, exploring themes of self-knowledge, identity, and the distinction between perceived reality and truth.
