Summer cultural festivals light up the Balkans in July‑August 2026

A series of free summer cultural events are taking place across the Balkans in July and August 2026. The Festival of Young Artists will be held on 8 August on Velika Beach in Ulcinj, Montenegro, offering world‑music, rock, electronic and classical performances in an interdisciplinary setting organized with the Montenegrin ministries of culture and tourism. In Varaždin County, Croatia, the Sveti Martin na Muri celebration combined a boat‑ride down the Mura River with folklore storytelling by Kristijan Petrović.

Radoboj, Croatia, hosts a multi‑day program from 17‑30 July that includes an art exhibition, a comedy show and a two‑night Beerfest. Zadar’s historic Cedulin atrium will present a “Music of the Night” concert on 13 July featuring world‑famous musical numbers from classic Broadway shows.

The Dugi Otok Čudesa children’s theatre festival will travel between six island villages from 14‑19 July, offering free performances and workshops. Bar, Montenegro, promotes a double‑compilation pop‑rock CD on 11 July with a free concert, while the same city will host violoncellist Ana Rucner on 12 July.

In Cetinje, Montenegro, the “Ljeto u Prijestonici” program includes concerts by Emina Jahović and Željko Bebek in late July. Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, welcomes Dženan Lončarević for a free concert on 22 July under the Old Bridge. Together, these events showcase a vibrant regional summer season of music, theatre and visual arts accessible to the public.
