Chile advances AI integration in professional management and healthcare

Chile is advancing its technological capabilities through new initiatives in artificial intelligence. In Talca, the first version of a diploma program focused on AI for Sustainable Project Management concluded. This program, driven by Corfo, Universidad Autónoma de Chile, and Codesser, aimed to train professionals to integrate AI into regional productive processes and economic development.

On a national scale, Chilean authorities have signed an alliance to create the first public bank for validating AI applications in health, known as the National AI Sandbox in Health. This initiative, supported by Corfo’s Transforma Innovación en Salud program, will use 166,000 mammographies from 75,000 women in the public system to test algorithms for early breast cancer detection. The sandbox will provide a secure environment for researchers and companies to validate technologies without data leaving state custody, with full operations expected by the second half of 2027.
