Chile allocates $107 million for San Carlos and San Fabián libraries
The San Carlos and San Fabián public libraries in Chile will receive an investment of over $107 million to enhance reading and community spaces. This funding is part of a larger regional allocation of nearly $200 million aimed at five public libraries in the Ñuble region, including San Ignacio, Pinto, and Quillón.
Under the 2026 Public Library Integral Improvement Program, the projects include renewing furniture at the Eusebio Lillo Library in San Carlos and designing the Nicanor Parra Library in San Fabián. The initiative, driven by the National Service of Cultural Heritage, seeks to provide more comfortable and accessible environments for children, youth, and adults to engage in cultural activities.
