Chile allocates over $21 million to boost agriculture in La Araucanía and health in Los Lagos

The Institute of Agricultural Development (INDAP) will invest about $1.197 million to recover more than 1,300 hectares of farmland in the La Araucanía region. The programme, targeting 32 communes, will provide non‑refundable incentives to over a thousand small‑scale producers for soil improvement, green‑manure use, fertiliser application and rotational grazing infrastructure, aiming to raise productivity and sustainability of family farms.

The Osorno Health Service has handed out more than $20 million to 35 community health organisations across seven communes in Los Lagos province. The funds support local health projects and include a training session on public‑funds regulations and accountability. Officials highlighted the role of civil society in identifying needs and improving health services.
