Chile and Argentina advance binational trade and logistics

Authorities from the Aysén Region and Comodoro Rivadavia are working to activate the Bioceanic Corridor to strengthen commercial exchange between Chilean and Argentine Patagonia. A technical mission scheduled for November will define operational protocols and cargo dimensions to establish a continuous logistical flow. The initiative aims to leverage the high export potential of the Atlantic Patagonia, particularly in the fishing sector, using Puerto Chacabuco as a gateway to Asian markets.

In a separate commercial development, the Arica y Parinacota Region has completed its first shipments of fresh tomatoes to Argentina. Supported by ProChile, this expansion follows the implementation of new sanitary inspection and certification procedures at the Jama Pass. Regional tomato exports reached $7.1 million between January and September 2026, surpassing the total recorded for the entire previous year.
