Brazil leads medal table at Valledupar Parasuramerican Games

Brazil has emerged as the dominant nation at the II Juegos Parasuramericanos in Valledupar, Colombia, topping the overall medal tally with 70 gold, 57 silver and 34 bronze medals, well ahead of host Colombia and Argentina.

Brazilian athletes captured podiums across a wide range of sports. In blind football, Brazil met Argentina in the final, with the match decided on penalties. In cycling, riders Jerusa Geber (silver) and Viviane Soares (gold) earned medals in the visually‑impaired time trial, while Lauro Chaman and Roberto Neto won gold in men’s events. The archery team secured an individual gold and two silvers in mixed team events. Brazilian swimmers added three golds, including a clean sweep of the podium in the S14 100 m butterfly.

Other nations also performed strongly: Argentina collected six medals in paracycling, Colombia led the para‑swimming medal count on day two, and Venezuela earned a gold in para‑natación. Chile added several medals in athletics and swimming, and Peru secured golds in swimming and para‑natación. The games, featuring more than 1,600 athletes from 11 countries, will conclude on 15 July with a closing ceremony in Valledupar.
