Chile and Colombia roll out new drug‑prevention measures for youth

Chile’s Senda Magallanes service launched the 2026 Youth and Well‑Being survey, targeting second‑year secondary students in the Magallanes region. The digital questionnaire, administered July‑August 2026, will collect data on quality of life, emotional health and risk factors related to alcohol and drug use, aiming to inform local prevention strategies.

In Colombia, health authorities announced the sale of rapid‑test strips that detect dangerous substances in drugs and beverages. Priced at around 10,000 Colombian pesos per unit, the tests provide a quick chemical reaction result and are intended for use in social settings to help consumers identify adulterated products, complementing broader risk‑reduction campaigns.
