Mexico national football team struggles under Rafael Márquez

The Mexico national football team, under new manager Rafael Márquez, concluded a difficult FIFA international window without a single victory. The team recorded two draws against Colombia and Peru, and two losses against the United States (0-3) and Chile (0-2).

In the final match of the window, held at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, Chile defeated Mexico 2-0 with goals from Maximiliano Gutiérrez and Vicente Pizarro. Márquez noted that the primary objective of this period was to evaluate players and identify those capable of competing at the highest level, stating, “We have seen who can be here and who cannot.”

Despite the poor results, Mexico remains in 10th place in the FIFA rankings. The team is now preparing for its next official commitment in November, which includes the Concacaf Nations League quarterfinals against Jamaica.
