Chile and Morocco sign agricultural cooperation protocol
Chile and Morocco have advanced their commercial relations through a new cooperation protocol signed between Chile’s Agricultural and Livestock Service (SAG) and Morocco’s National Office for Food Safety (ONSSA). The agreement focuses on strengthening collaboration regarding quarantine, plant health, and animal health standards.
This cooperation aims to facilitate the trade of Chilean agri-food products into the Moroccan market, which serves as a significant consumer base of approximately 37 million people and a potential gateway to other African markets. Víctor Catán, president of the Fruit Producers Federation of Chile (Fedefruta), noted that such public-private initiatives are essential for market diversification and improving export access conditions.
