Chile and Spain boost cancer survivorship care
The Coquimbo Region in Chile has launched a pilot program that provides integrated, long‑term support for cancer survivors. Multidisciplinary teams of oncologists, psycho‑oncologists, nutritionists and physiotherapists will offer personalized follow‑up plans, address chronic sequelae such as fatigue and lymphedema, and assist patients with occupational and family reintegration.
In Spain, a new “Guide to Supporting Patients and Families Facing Kidney Cancer” was released by pharmaceutical company Ipsen together with the National Federation of Kidney Disease Associations and the Sogug Foundation. The guide stresses the importance of psychological counselling, shared decision‑making and empowering patients to become informed members of their care teams.
