Chile begins payments for School Achievement Bonus
Chile has begun distributing the 'Bono Logro Escolar' (School Achievement Bonus) as of Monday, September 14. Payments are being deposited into the CuentaRUT accounts of eligible beneficiaries through BancoEstado.
The annual benefit is designed to promote educational continuity and academic performance among students from 5th grade to 12th grade. To qualify, students must be up to 24 years old, belong to the most vulnerable 30% of the population according to the Social Household Registry, and have been in the top 30% of their class academically during the previous year.
Payment amounts are tiered based on academic ranking: students in the top 15% of their class receive $85,057, while those in the second 15% receive $51,036. The bonus is compatible with other state transfers and subsidies.
