Chile declares agricultural emergency for Maule South amid storm damage

Deputy Daniel Bustos (PRep) asked Agriculture Minister Jaime Campos to declare an agricultural emergency in the Maule South region, citing severe damage to farms and livestock from recent storms. Following the request, the Ministry of Agriculture announced an emergency for the affected provinces, enabling faster delivery of aid.

The National Institute of Agricultural Development (Indap) began cadastral surveys in the regions of La Araucanía and Ñuble, deploying teams to assess losses and coordinate assistance. Indap officials emphasized rapid support for family farms, including resources and forage for animals, to help restore productive systems and sustain families dependent on agriculture.
