Chile distributes recovery bonuses to families affected by August weather systems
The Chilean government has begun distributing the 'Bono de Recuperación' (Recovery Bonus) to families affected by the weather systems in August. The financial aid is designed to help residents restore housing conditions and replace household goods.
In the Tarapacá Region, 13,166 households are receiving support, with a total allocation of 10,201 million pesos. This represents the largest resource concentration among the three affected northern macro-regions. Payments are being deposited into Cuenta RUT accounts or can be collected at BancoEstado branches. The amounts vary based on the level of damage recorded via the Basic Emergency Form (FIBE), ranging from 375,000 to 1,500,000 pesos.
In the Arica and Camarones area, 352 families are set to receive a total of 295,500,000 pesos. Local authorities have visited beneficiaries to communicate the aid and assess the ongoing needs of those impacted by the heavy rains.
