Chile drives tech startup competition and mining workforce certification initiatives

Fundación NTT DATA Chile opened applications for the eAwards Chile 2026, a contest that will select a national tech‑based startup to compete in an international final in Portugal. The winning venture will receive $10,000 equity‑free, market connections and the chance to compete for a €100,000 prize.

Veltis Latam announced that it has issued more than 970 labor‑competency certifications for mining workers, becoming the sector leader in Chile. The program, developed with Fulcro and ChileValora, validates on‑the‑job experience and issues industry‑recognised credentials.

Both initiatives aim to strengthen Chile’s innovation ecosystem and improve the quality of its skilled workforce.
