Chile expands logistics and retail footprint with Samex and Cencosud new facilities

Chilean logistics firm Samex opened larger branches in Rancagua and Copiapó, moving to new premises that increase operational space by 26% in Rancagua (from 380 m² to 480 m²) and by 108% in Copiapó (from 390 m² to 812 m²). The upgrades aim to meet rising cargo volumes and improve service efficiency, according to general manager Mauricio Parot.

Retail conglomerate Cencosud inaugurated a new Jumbo supermarket in Las Condes, Santiago. The 1,750 m² store employs 127 staff and features LED lighting, eco‑friendly refrigeration and self‑checkout lanes. The opening marks the chain’s 60th Jumbo outlet in Chile and coincides with the company’s 2026 growth plan and its 50‑year anniversary in the market.
