Chile experiences atmospheric instability and rain across central regions

Central Chile is experiencing atmospheric instability characterized by a frontal system that is bringing rain and wind to several regions. In the Maule Region, heavy rains and electrical storms have already been recorded. In the Metropolitan Region, including Santiago, wind gusts of up to 40 km/h have been reported, with the possibility of thunderstorms occurring during the afternoon.

In the La Araucanía Region, specifically in Villarrica, a cold and humid pattern is expected for Monday, September 21. Temperatures are forecasted to range between 3°C and 10°C with a 100% probability of precipitation. High humidity levels and significant cloud cover are expected to persist throughout the day.

The current instability is expected to subside by the early hours of Sunday, after which temperatures are projected to return to spring levels, exceeding 18°C.
