Chile focuses on green hydrogen project execution at Hyvolution 2026

At the Hyvolution Chile 2026 congress, industry leaders and government officials emphasized the transition from policy planning to the actual execution of green hydrogen projects. The event focused on financial viability, project implementation, and the materialization of technologies on the ground.

Chilean Energy Minister Ximena Rincón noted that while the country has significant advantages in the sector, the current challenge lies in establishing clear regulations, reasonable permitting timelines, and ensuring a positive impact on local employment and community welfare.

Key components of the 2026-2030 Energy Roadmap include the creation of an interministerial strategic energy investment committee to expedite processes, the launch of a territorial logistics program for Magallanes, and the planned integration of the first hydrogen-powered bus assembled in Chile into the metropolitan transport system by 2027.
