Chile health sector convenes leadership and medical school collaborations
Former health minister and director of the University Diego Portales Health Observatory, Dr. Ximena Aguilera, participated in the national forum “Diálogos 2026: Liderazgo, Mujer y Cáncer,” which gathered over one hundred women leaders from public, private, academic, scientific and civil‑society sectors to discuss cancer’s impact on women and strategies for prevention, early detection, treatment and equitable health policy in Chile.
In the O'Higgins region, the President of the Medical College of O’Higgins, Dr. Sonia Correa, met with the rector and pro‑rector of the University of O’Higgins to review the development of the university’s School of Medicine and School of Health. The discussion focused on strengthening medical education, improving clinical training, and supporting public‑health workforce needs in the region.
