Chile launches 2.1 billion‑peso community fund and $27,000 gas coupon program

The Regional Council of Arica and Parinacota approved the second call of the “Fondo Concursable 8% 2026”, making more than 2.1 billion Chilean pesos available for projects from July 1‑15, 2026. The package includes roughly 2 billion pesos for private non‑profit organizations and 125 million pesos for public entities, covering areas such as security, environment, children and adolescents, seniors, social services, sports and culture. Governor Diego Paco Mamani said the approval brings “good news for the community of Arica and Parinacota.”

Separately, the municipality of Rinconada reiterated the activation process for a liquid‑gas coupon worth 27 000 pesos. Households that meet social‑vulnerability criteria can activate the benefit online and redeem it through digital apps or authorized points until 30 September 2026; the coupon must be used within three days of issuance. Director Valeria Montenegro urged residents to complete the activation promptly.
