Chile launches $50 million initiative to revitalize commercial districts

Chile has launched a commercial district strengthening initiative aimed at revitalizing 45 commercial sectors across the country. The program seeks to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) by improving local infrastructure to create more attractive environments for customers.

During an announcement at Caracol Ñuñoa Centro, Biminister of Economy and Mining Daniel Mas and Sercotec General Manager Henry Azurmendi introduced an investment fund of $50 million for these improvements. The initiative emphasizes the importance of business association and collaboration among local merchants to drive economic growth. Early results from similar programs, such as the Caracol Ñuñoa site which hosts over 140 small businesses, have shown a 15% increase in sales following enhancements to security and digital positioning.
