Chile launches eighth Science and Technology Festival

Chile's Ministry of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation is organizing the eighth edition of the Science and Technology Festival, scheduled to take place nationwide from October 5 to 11. This year, the event officially incorporates “Technology” into its name to highlight the transition from research to practical innovation and solutions.

To coordinate the national program, the Ministry has launched the “Cultura Científica” digital platform. This open registry allows schools, universities, research centers, and science-based companies to register their activities and ensure they are included in the official national schedule. Registration for the platform is available until October 2.

In the Los Ríos Region, the central event will be a public fair held on October 8 at the Science Tent of the Centro de Estudios Científicos del Sur in Valdivia. The festival aims to decentralize scientific knowledge, offering free and public activities designed to encourage curiosity and engagement with the scientific community across all regions of the country.
