Temuco municipality removes illegal delivery motorcycles in traffic crackdown

The Municipality of Temuco, together with Carabineros and the regional Transport authority, conducted a joint operation in the Torremolinos area to inspect around 50 motorcyclists working as food‑delivery couriers. Five motorcycles were withdrawn from service: four were driven by riders without a valid licence and one lacked the required lighting system. The operation, led by the municipal Directorate of Public Safety (DISEP) and coordinated with the 8th Carabineros precinct, is part of Temuco’s Integral Security Strategy aimed at enforcing traffic regulations and deterring associated criminal activity. Municipal authorities, including DISEP director Richard Gutiérrez and acting mayor Ricardo Toro, emphasized that such checks are permanent and intended to ensure that delivery services operate within the legal framework.
