Chile offers 30 art education scholarships and launches Indigenous craft label competition

The Seremi of Cultures, Arts and Heritage of the O'Higgins Region, together with the Universidad de O'Higgins, opened applications for 30 scholarships to the 5th Diplomatic in Artistic Education, Identity and Territory. Applications are open until 15 July and require a project proposal focused on rural communities. The program has trained 160 participants between 2022 and 2025.

The Ministry of Cultures, Arts and Heritage, through the National Subdirectorate of Indigenous Peoples and Afro‑descendant Tribal, announced the call for the 2026 edition of the Sello Artesanía Indígena. The award recognises traditional indigenous craftsmanship across Chile. Submissions close on 7 August; applicants must be indigenous artisans over 18 who can prove belonging to a recognised people.
