Chile politicians Evelyn Matthei and Camila Vallejo spar over media bias and security promises

Former presidential candidate Evelyn Matthei defended former minister Camila Vallejo, accusing written press of misogyny and describing certain media coverage as “disgusting” toward women. Matthei made the remarks during a debate over the communication strategy of President José Antonio Kast’s government.

Vallejo returned to the public arena, calling the Kast administration’s pledge to cut crime a “big scam” and alleging that the promises were used to win votes.
