Chile President José Antonio Kast Disapproval Hits Record 56.7%

A new Activa Research poll conducted from 10‑12 June shows that disapproval of President José Antonio Kast has risen to a record 56.7 % three months after he took office on 11 March 2026. Approval slipped to 30.5 %, while 12.8 % of respondents gave no answer. The survey sampled 1,036 adults nationwide, with a margin of error of ±3.0 % at 95 % confidence.

The poll also measured public sentiment toward the government’s recent banking‑account freeze applied to high‑income debtors of the State‑Backed Loan program, which began on 4 June. Support for the measure stood at 37.4 % while 40.4 % opposed it.
