Chile President José Antonio Kast’s Approval Falls to 34%, Disapproval Near 60%

Two recent Chilean opinion polls show a sharp decline in President José Antonio Kast’s popularity. The Pulso Ciudadano survey recorded a 25.6% approval rating and a 58.9% disapproval rate, while the Agenda Criteria poll a week later reported approval at 34% and disapproval at 55%. Both surveys indicate growing uncertainty, with “no answer” responses rising to about 11%.

The polls reveal that young voters (18‑30) are especially critical, giving Kast only 15.5% approval and 64.8% disapproval. Regional differences are modest, with the south showing the highest approval (around 27%) and the Metropolitan region the lowest (about 25%). Opposition respondents reject the president at a 95.8% rate. Security and unemployment top public concerns, and major portions of the electorate oppose proposed privatizations of state assets such as Codelco, ENAP and BancoEstado. Nearly half of respondents view the Reconstruction and Development Law negatively, and 40% expect the economy to worsen over the next year.
