Chile Pride March Calls for Anti‑Discrimination Commitments
The 25th Chilean Pride March will take place on Saturday, 21 June at 14:00 in Plaza Italia, Santiago. Organized by Fundación Iguales and the Movimiento de Integración y Liberación Homosexual (Movilh), the event urges political candidates to adopt concrete measures guaranteeing equality and non‑discrimination for LGBTIQ+ people, especially ahead of a key election.
The organizers also demand a decisive state response to hate speech, particularly against trans people, and call for an urgent reform of the Antidiscrimination Law, which has been pending in parliament for seven years. They stress that the march is a peaceful, independent expression of democratic inclusion, rejecting any political co‑optation.
