Chile reaches record 140,412 new business incorporations in early 2026

Chile has reached a historic milestone in business formation, with 140,412 new companies and societies registered between January and July 2026. This figure represents the highest cumulative total for this period since records began in 2013, surpassing the 15,618 more companies registered during the same period in 2025.

The Simplified Registration System (RES) has become the dominant method for formalizing businesses, accounting for over 90% of new incorporations. Of the total companies registered so far this year, 129,345 were processed through the RES platform.

In July 2026 alone, 20,013 new companies were formed. While this monthly figure represents a 4% decrease compared to July 2025, the volume remains high. SpA (Sociedades por Acciones) continues to be the most common corporate structure, representing 81.2% of RES incorporations. Key sectors driving this growth include commerce and services. Additionally, women accounted for 38.4% of partners, while foreign partners represented 11.0% of the total.
