Chile records 120,399 new firms in first half 2026; Honduras sees 14% registration rise

In Chile, the Registry of Companies and Societies reported 120,399 new firms and societies created between January and June 2026, the highest first‑half total since the system began in 2013. This represents a 15.3% year‑on‑year increase, with June alone adding 20,458 entities. Sociedades por Acciones (SpA) accounted for 80.6% of the registrations and grew 22% annually, while regions such as Los Lagos, Los Ríos and O’Higgins posted the strongest gains.

In Honduras, the Francisco Morazán commercial registry documented 4,656 company incorporation documents for the same period, a 14% rise over the first half of 2025 and an additional 574 firms. The growth follows a dip in 2025 and signals accelerating formalisation of businesses in the department.
