Chile's regional authorities launch women's leadership and early‑education programs
The National Service for Women and Gender Equity (SernamEG) held a two‑day workshop in Arica y Parinacota titled “Mujeres líderes en acción”. Around 60 women from the region participated in practical sessions on policy analysis, negotiation and public speaking. Director Sebastián Peirano Larenas said, “esta jornada representa un paso importante en el fortalecimiento de liderazgos femeninos que nacen desde los territorios”. Participants praised the opportunity to share experiences and build tools for community decision‑making.
In the Ñuble region, the Seremi of Education, Felipe Vogel, inspected the newly renovated Mis Pasitos kindergarten in Chillán Viejo. The project, funded with more than $106 million, added a new electrical system, climate control, CCTV and fresh paint. Vogel remarked, “Para nosotros, como Ministerio de Educación, es muy importante el proceso formativo en el nivel parvulario”.
A separate civic‑education event in the Biobío region let students from primary to secondary school serve as temporary secretaries in a “Seremi por un día” simulation. Delegado Presidencial Regional Julio Anativia described it as “una experiencia educativa que pretendió conocer cuál es el trabajo que se realiza en el gobierno”.
The Subsecretaría de Educación Parvularia, together with the Tarapacá Seremi, visited early‑education centers in Colchane and Cariquima. Leonardo Gálvez emphasized the importance of the first years of life, noting, “Son estos primeros años de vida donde los niños y niñas pueden cimentar...”. The visits aimed to strengthen pedagogical practice and community ties as part of the government’s focus on initial education.
