Chile reports 1,764 deportations in 2026 following new FACH flight
The Chilean government has reached 1,764 deportations so far in 2026, according to Interior Undersecretary Máximo Pavez. This figure represents a significant increase compared to previous years, including a 64.9% rise over the 2022 total.
A recent charter flight operated by the Chilean Air Force (FACH) transported 40 individuals, consisting of 32 Colombian and 8 Peruvian nationals. Among those on this flight, 28 individuals have criminal records involving offenses such as drug trafficking, robbery, and domestic violence.
Authorities also noted legislative advancements aimed at accelerating the deportation process. A new mechanism is expected to allow the Investigative Police (PDI) to enter residences with judicial authorization to apprehend foreigners who have finalized deportation orders.
