Chile rolls out AI tools to streamline building permits and government services

The municipality of Rancagua joined the Revi: Permisos con IA pilot, an artificial‑intelligence platform created by the Chilean Construction Chamber with Google’s technical support. The system provides two digital assistants—Clara Revi, which pre‑checks private permit applications, and Norman Revi, which helps municipal reviewers generate observations—aiming to cut processing times and uncertainty for construction permits.

In Santiago, the Advisory Council for Government Modernisation gathered experts and academics to propose ways to accelerate the region’s digital transformation. Governor Claudio Orrego and other officials highlighted the need to prioritize AI, data and open‑innovation projects under the SmartGORE 2.0 programme, stressing their potential to improve public safety, mobility and overall municipal efficiency.
