Chile Science Ministry Boosts Regional Innovation and Aquaculture Research

The Minister of Science, Technology, Knowledge and Innovation, Ximena Lincolao, inaugurated the Regional Innovation Table at the Universidad Autónoma de Chile in Temuco. The new forum gathers 16 public, private and academic institutions to coordinate technology transfer, align scientific work with regional needs and support economic and social development in La Araucanía. Lincolao emphasized that “innovation is built from the territories and requires the participation of all actors.”

Subsecretary of Science, Carolina Rossi Pantoja, together with regional science officials, visited the Interdisciplinary Center for Aquaculture Research (INCAR²) in Concepción. The delegation reviewed the center’s projects aimed at sustainable aquaculture and highlighted the importance of turning scientific knowledge into concrete solutions for the sector. Rossi Pantoja noted that “aquaculture is one of the most important sectors we have in Chile, and its growth shows the huge potential for further innovation.”
