Child Welfare Funding and Bonuses Roll Out in Honduras, Chile and Bolivia

The Honduran Secretariat of Childhood, Adolescence and Family (Senaf) will begin disbursing L100 million (about US$4 million) in 2026 to organizations that protect vulnerable children, including homes, temporary protection families and "Madres Solidarias" networks.

Chile's lower house approved a bill to create a one‑time US$30,000 bonus for each child under 13 who belongs to the poorest 80 % of households, with automatic payment to families that already receive state benefits.

In Bolivia, the Social Development and Family Ministry's deputy‑minister presented a similar proposal for a US$30,000 extraordinary child support bonus, also targeting children under 13 in the most vulnerable households and to be paid automatically once the law is enacted.

Chile also advanced a universal nursery bill through the Senate's Education Committee, aiming to extend early‑childcare rights to all workers and the self‑employed via a solidarity fund, though debate continues over the financing mechanism.
