Chile updates Carabineros recruitment and SAE school admissions

Carabineros de Chile has extended the application period for its Officers' School until August 31, 2026. A key change to Decree No. 88 now allows applicants to join starting at age 17, aiming to expand recruitment opportunities for young people interested in public service and security without altering institutional standards.

Separately, the School Admission System (SAE) is entering the final stage of its main application period for the 2027 academic year, closing on Thursday, August 27, at 2:00 PM. While students already enrolled in a school do not need to reapply to remain in the same institution, new applications are mandatory for those changing schools, moving to a different educational level not offered by their current school, or transitioning from private to state-funded institutions.
