Regional governments deploy funds for agriculture and local business
Various regional governments and agencies are implementing financial and material support programs for agricultural producers and local entrepreneurs.
In Chile, the Lumaco municipality used its own funds to provide forage to 200 families affected by heavy rains. Additionally, FOSIS announced an investment of over $1.095 billion to support 920 existing businesses in the Biobío region through training and financing. In La Calera, INDAP funds provided tools and infrastructure to local farmers.
In Costa Rica, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock is executing projects in Guácimo to improve water management and sustainability for livestock producers, with an investment exceeding ₡45 million.
In Panama, the National Decentralization Authority transferred $376 million to local governments for over 7,500 investment projects, including road infrastructure and water access. Meanwhile, in Spain, the San Fernando City Council launched a €150,000 aid program to support local entrepreneurs and business modernization.
