Chilean agricultural sector coordinates on 2029 revaluation and climate damage

The National Agriculture Society (SNA) has joined a technical working group convened by the Internal Revenue Service (SII) to define the methodology for the 2029 Agricultural General Revaluation. This initiative involves several state agencies, including CIREN, ODEPA, the National Irrigation Commission (CNR), the Foundation for Agrarian Innovation (FIA), and the Ministry of National Assets. The goal is to incorporate technical data and producer perspectives to ensure land valuation reflects actual productive and territorial conditions.

In the O’Higgins Region, Undersecretary of Agriculture Francesco Venezian is leading the Regional Committee for Agricultural Risk Management (CARGIR) to assess damage caused by recent extreme weather events. Authorities are evaluating the impact of heavy rains and hailstorms on agricultural production. The committee is coordinating with agencies such as INDAP, CONAF, and SAG to determine the scale of losses and plan support measures, particularly for small-scale farmers and seasonal agricultural employment.
