Chilean agriculture expands international reach through trade missions and hosting global oat conference
Chilean agricultural sectors are expanding their international presence through new industry initiatives and trade missions. The Mesa Nacional de la Avena, a public-private coordination body, announced that Chile will host the International Oat Conference (OAT 2026) in Pucón from November 17 to 20. This marks the first time the premier global scientific and industrial event for the oat sector will be held in Latin America.
In a separate development, six companies from the Ñuble Region participated in a commercial mission to Ica, Peru. The mission aimed to open new export opportunities for Chilean agro-providers, focusing on high-technology agriculture, bio-inputs, and irrigation solutions. Participants engaged in business meetings and attended the 6th Bioestimulantes Latam & Redagrícola Biocontrol Ica 2026 congress to share best practices and foster regional collaboration.
