Chilean and Peruvian Air Force pilots exchange Twin Otter expertise
Pilots from the Chilean Air Force (FACh) and the Peruvian Air Force (FAP) participated in a professional exchange program focused on the operation of DHC-6 Twin Otter aircraft. The activity took place at the Chabunco Air Base in the Magallanes Region of Chile.
During the exchange, Peruvian pilots shared expertise regarding the operation of Twin Otters equipped with floats and the use of night vision goggles (NVG). In return, Chilean crews provided instruction on operating the aircraft in extreme low temperatures and the specific requirements of the Antarctic territory. The program also included presentations on Antarctic meteorology and Reduced Ground Roll (RGR) techniques for takeoffs and landings in confined spaces.
